Amaryllis

Any of several bulbous plants of the genus
Hippeastrum. Also called "Belladonna Lilly",
or naked lady.

I don't know about all that termonology,
but they sure are beautiful.

Martin Sillhouetts.

These were taken to show off the
graceful lines of nature.

Most of you know I love silhouetts.
Above is a Great Blue Heron.
Below is a Cormmorant.
Above and below Cormorants,
sometimes called water turkeys,
or snake birds because of their
long necks.
The bird below, I believe is an Eagle.

This above picture, two cormmorant
gather to spot fish. This particular tree
is usualy covered with commorants at
certain times of the day however
not this day. Ugly as they are they
do make a graceful silhouette.

New Birth, Spring.

I've made a few new discoveries at
Martins farm. It is not a real farm but
I call it that for lack of a better term. It
is a friends privet owned 400 acres of
wild life of all kinds. It is all new to me so I
am seeing new things all the time. It is
quite an experience trying to get pictures.
But a great experience to sum it up.
Above and below, Two owls, way up in the
nose bleed section of a tree. One of them
doesn't mind sticking it's head up, the other
just sort of lays there, unfazed by my truck
and camera. I will try to monitor them from
time to time so as not to disturb the parents.
Below is an "Ibis". Shows what I know, I thought
it was a Stork of some kind.
Below is my favorite, Malard ducklings.
The mother was right there with them
protecting them.

There are many preditators around these
little fellows. Osprey, hawks, buzzards,
a pair of eagles, and aligators. I hope they
all survive.

A "Persons" best friend's.

Above and below, I took this picture through
the windshield of the car. It was quite chilly,
and this fellow was trying to get comfortable
as well as warm.
Below is Mia, Mia is my cousin Catherine
who lives in Atlanta, baby.
Below is Atina. Atina and Mia are cousins,
they play very well together. When Atina
plays; stand back..

Below is Savannah. My sister's who lives in
Brookfield Wisconsin. They like to walk
together.

Below is Roxie. A well cared for Bassett
Hound that is loved by my grandson Henry.

Below you see Roxie in her heated
apartment. The temperature is
monitored from inside her caregivers
home. A dogs life isn't so bad.

Birds with Patience.

The Bird below is a
"Small Blue Heron"
I think ?
The Blue Heron was very
Patient, I followed it when
it flew twice, I was able to
watch it for a long time. Or was
it watching me? Oh well it was
an enjoyable experience.
Above "Great White Heron"

Martin,s Farm.

My neighbor has a friend that owns 400
acres of land with ponds and wooded.
I've tried to get some pics but the wild life
are very skidish, but so enjoyable to observe.

I have seen these Red head Woodpeckers
in 4 diferent locations, they are beautiful.
My 75 x 300mm canon camera just doesn't
do them justice.

I'm sure fishing is great there also.

There are aligators and very large turtles.
Deer and even Wild Cats.

Click on the above picture to see this
little fellow. I realy love Blue birds.

Feathered Hope.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is herd;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've herd it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
it asked a crumb of me.
       (Emily Dickinson)

You must forgive me, I seem to have
feathers stuck in my Camera.
God's Gifts, are better than
mans best dreams.
(unknown)
I must concentrate my gaze closer to the ground.
