I googled this and as best I can determine
this is a "Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail"
(What a name huh)

I have seen these before, But never got a photo
of one.

Dragonfly

 The Dragonfly is an amazing insect.

Dragonfly's and Damsel flies. Very interesting
Insects. I was surprised to find out they really
do eat mosquitoes and gnats. As well as other
small insects and on occasion butterfly's.They
pose no harm to humans.

Wikipedia "these are the fastest insects".
They are generally found around or near water,
because their larva live in water. They are
among the oldest and most ancient of insects.

Butterflys in August

Took this photo of a lone Butterfly early one morning
before the sun touched the plant it was on. I guess
the heat is keeping them hidden in the deep shade.
