Oyster Roast.

In early February we attended
an Oyster Roast, as we have for the
last 4 or 5 years.
Gotta have a hot fire to roast these bad boys.
Yummmmmmeee.

You must have the oyster's cause they are
on the menue. Lots of oysters, yes.

The fire is hot; dump the oysters
on the iron plate.

Hose them down with water, then

Cover them with a wet burlap fabric.

Now comes the important part. You must
have an expert to check on the oysters
so you know when they are done. Two
experts are better than one.

When the shells pop open theyare done.
Now shovel them up and dump on tables.

There were probably over 200 people served
this past February 2011. See My next blog for
some more of the story.
Ya'll come now ya-hear!!

Azaleas in Bloom.

A soft and gentel rain, lay softly
on these flowers, like tears from Heaven.

Spring is when you feel like whistling,
even with your shoe's full of slush !
(Doug Larson)

Spring awakens the busiest of all Gods creatures,
the Honeybee, to spread spring far and wide.

Butterflys and more.

Spring is a Beautiful
Young Lady and
She has arrived,
right on Time.

To be overcome by the Fragrence
of Flowers, is a Delectable
Form of Defeat.
"Beverly Nichols"

How can one help shivering with delight when ones hot finger's
close around the stem of a live Flower, cool from the shade
and stiff with newborn vigor !

Friday My Town Shootout

Goodness Gracious Great shades
of YELLOW. Could this be
Friday My Town Shoot Out. !!!
Just hop on your scooter
and away we go..
I love Squash, Batter Fried, Stewed with onions,
Squash Casserole, Squash Soup,

Thai Roasted squash soup, Spaghetti
squash alfredo,Twice-baked squash medley.
Squash is an international food, American,
Italian, Mexican, Asian, AND the list goes
on and on, There's more squash recipes than
Bubba Gump Shrimp Recipes.

We all can agree Yellow is a good thing,
Corn for low country boil.

"Lemon tree very pretty,
the lemon flower is sweet
but the fruit of the poor lemon
is impossible to eat......"

Well now, lets just do that. Compare
Apples Oranges and Banannas.
I'll never understand that, they
do not look anything alike. There's
a lemon law.
Try this, cooking without eggs I say.
Try hunting Easter eggs without eggs.
Try an egg toss without eggs.
Now for the biggie................
"Which came first the chicken or the egg"
Try that age old quandry, Without the egg,
We'd never figure it out.
Like I said Yellow is a good thing.
Pineapple Is Yellow, Ohh so good.

Yellow.

Friday My Town Shoot Out !

Yellow are the taxi tops
the butterfly's and bumblebees
juicy lemons, sunflower's
and falling leaves..

Yellow is for the sunshine
so warm  upon my face.

Yellow is for charming smiles, for youth,
yellow is for warmth and inspiration
To make people smile is it's purpose

Yellow is for the laughing
children as they play

Red Bellied Wood Pecker ?

Red Bellied Wood Pecker.
Well that's what my bird
book says. What do my
Blogger Friends say  ?

Wood Peckers have a voracious appetite for bugs,
seeds and I don't know what else. They will peck
on a tree till the sap runs and sip the sap as well
as use the sticky liquid to hold their bugs captive
till they are ready for their next meal.

Very interesting characters.

Pileated Woodpecker

These Woodpeckers
can make short work
of a small tree. If the
tree doesn't come down,
it will certenly be ruined.
I cut this tree down some time
ago. Now it is right for insects,
and the wood peckers love it.

I captured these woodpeckers
early one morning making
a meal out of some insects
on the stump you see here.

The Pileated Woodpecker's
are beautiful.

Old Song."I see the Moon"

I know some of my Blogger
friends remember this tune,
I sang it when I was very young.
( and that's long, long, ago)
Where ever you are tonight
look up at the Moon. The
Moon is supposed to be very
large tonight. They are calling
it a super Moon .
I see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees the somebody I'd like to see
God Bless the moon and God Bless me
and God Bless the somebody I'd like to see.

It seem's to me that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
Because He knew I loved you best

I once had a heart as good as new
But now it's gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done
For you have two and I have none

If I get to heaven and you're not there
I'll carve your name on a Golden stair
A way up high for all to see
Just how much you mean to me.
Ahhh so many Moons ago.

Saint Patricks Day 2011

May you live a hundred years,
with one extra year  to Repent.
Tis better to buy a small bouquet
and give to your friend this very day,
than a bushel of roses of white and red,
to lay on his coffin after he's dead.
(Go mbeanniai duit.)

May the luck of the Irish be with You.

Blue Birds

These little birds some times
look so serious, some times
They look very angry. They are
spunky and defend their territory.
I watch them in my yard and
during nest building, it is a
battle between them and
the Mocking birds.

Carolina Wren.

A very small bird with
a very loud song.
When these fellows show up
at the feeder, all the
world knows it.Their song
is very loud.
