Tybee Light

Tybee Island light station at the mouth of the

Savannah river. Maintained now by the Tybee

Island historical society, there is a small Light

keepers house located here. However in later years

the duty of maintaining the light was assigned to the

U.S. Coast Guard And a larger building was built to house

the Coast Guard Command "Station Tybee Light" .

The Optics are still Maintained by the Coast Guard.

I don't remember the old houses, I do remember the lighthouse, but I think it has been painted since the last time I saw it. Love all the pictures but especailly the first one, I clicked on it and the detail is great. you know how I love old houses.
