Leaving the Nest

While checking on the Blue Bird box yesterday, I
realized something was going on. to my surprise
there was a struggle going on.

The young were trying to leave the nest. I've never
witnessed this before, so I sat with camera, to
snap some pictures of the event.

From the time I sat down it took the first young
fifteen minutes to get into position and finally
fly to moma and papa bird.
Papa Bird showes the nervous wear of the event.

Finally.....
Umphh....

One final stretch.......

And Away it went. Momma and papa waiting.
I will show the second young in my next post.
The second had a terrible struggle and I thought
I might have to open the door and let it out.

I LOVE THE expression on the babies face, priceless. and they barely fit out the door so that means they had enough to eat. what fun
