Dragonfly

The Dragonfly is an amazing insect.
Dragonfly's and Damsel flies. Very interesting
Insects. I was surprised to find out they really
do eat mosquitoes and gnats. As well as other
small insects and on occasion butterfly's.They
pose no harm to humans.
Wikipedia "these are the fastest insects".
They are generally found around or near water,
because their larva live in water. They are
among the oldest and most ancient of insects.

that last shot is beautiful. i always like to see them around - if only for their mosquito eating penchant. :)

Beautiful dragonfly! Bunches of them fly around when I'm on the riding mower. They're hunting the insects the mower stirs up while I'm cutting. Never tire of watching them. Quite useful little critters!

Perfect shots !
I had one land on my front porch this evening, he was a busy little fella, darting here there and everywhere.
What large eyes :)

Dragons are also beautiful to look at and anything that eats mosquitoes is OK with me.
