My Bald Eagle.

June 28 of 2007 the Interior

department took the American

Bald Eagle off of the endangered

species list.

The Bald Eagle is a member of the
fish eagle group. I am surprised to
find that there is very little difference
between the color male and female
color. I've seen two eagles the same
color patterns and assumed it was two
males or male and juvenile male. WRONG.



The Bald Eagle is known to fly at an altitude
of 10,000 feet. In level flight it can achieve
speed's of 30 to 35 mph. The Juvenile
reaches maturity in 4 to 5 years. In the
wild they can live as long as 30 years.



I've been trying to get photos of these Eagles
for awhile now, I'm getting closer. They
are beautiful.

I would hope for good light, and birds

who like to have their pictures taken.

ha ha .

Barrd Owl.

I'm afraid this owl's Missing 
an eye. It just sat there and
let me take photos. 

Ducks in cold weather.

During our recent cold

spell the birds really slowed

down. On the first day the

temperature warmed the

water fowl acted like

it was spring. Funny to watch.

What did I tell you ?
The Ibis always shows
up at feeding time.

It's raining today so

I will not be going

into the woods to play.

I'll reach back into my

bag of fall leaves from

last year and enjoy the

colors.



Buzzard.

The word is "Buzzard",

Use the word "Buzzard"

"That old Buzzard has gone Snapping crazy".

This proves I'll snap a photo of

almost anything.

Favorite feeding Log

 This Ibis seems to favor this

log for choice feeding time.

It often has a friend to lunch.

Wood Stork.

The Stork delivers Babies; Not !!

In place of feathers on their

head, they have scaley skin.

Their were a pair of Storks,
but I was a bit to slow.

A Beautiful Bird in Fall.



Tortoise Gathering.

I would imagine they are

discusing the up coming

race between the tortoise

and the Hare. What say you ?

I have no words to

describe the beauty

of this Egret as it waded,

and probed for food.

Green Heron.

I came upon this Heron

while wandering the dike

out back of our Home. It

was grooming itself and

did not mind being my taking

it's photograph. It posed for

quite a while.

While watching it, I was hoping

to see it catch a fish, but it was

content to pick off flying insects

out of the air.





A Swamp Comunity.

This turtle on the log, there were 

six on the log , but before I could

get a shot they bailed out.

There are so many creatures

that come to feed and drink

here. Getting any of them to

pose for a portrait is almost

impossable.
