Great Egret

Feathered against the cold.

Look how this "Great Egret" fluffs against
the cold. Great doesn't necessarily
mean Slick Dresser.

In cold weather like this all of the birds
are laying low and braced against
the cold and drizzling rain.

Seems it was practicing its aproach,
touch down and go.

We were eyeball to eyeball before

Interesting Green Heron.

While thinking about something

to post, I came across this very

interesting bird. look close at the

photos because they are not

very clear.

Above and below, if you click on the
Photo you'll see a dragonfly in the
Herons beak.

Check out the feet on this Heron. The
feet have joints much like the joint's
on our finger's that can wrap around a
limb or branch, also there seems to be
long claw like nails. It would be hard to 
make this bird let go of it's perch

Oh so close, this is a difficult
bird to persue when in it's
territory.





Shore Birds.

Away from the Swamp and

and down by the shore,

where birds run as fast as

the wind.

These little fellows are so very fast,

as they forage for food along the

waves and in the sand. They seem

to be a little nosey also.

Ibis among the stumps

I never get tired of snapping

photos of these beautiful birds.

The pink beak and pink legs

with the reflections in the swamp

make for a peaceful scene.



Cold weather Pelicans.

It was both funny and

interesting to watch

these Pelicans that had

gathered to warm themselvs

as well as feed on fish and

shrimp.

Big Bird, cleared for takeoff.

Below, not sure what is going on, much
like our Government, I guess. Lot's of
squaking, wing flapping, jumping out of
the water and on to the mudd.
