All I know about chickens.

What can I say about Chickens ?

I don't know much about Chickens. Except the

obvious, they lay eggs. Not the one's above and

below. They are Rooster's. Rooster's are male

chickens. They are like male humans, they scratch

in the dirt, peck at poop, Cocka-doodle-do and

monopolize the remote, and ask, whats for supper.

I think Rooster's know when to stop crowing. 

Unlike Tiger golfers. The Rooster knows, when

the male human asks; whats for supper, if the 

Rooster continues to crow it's gonna be chicken. 

Well thats all I know about chickens!!!!!

I guess I should be in the Olympics, my wonderful

wife keeps telling me, I'm " skating on thin ice"

whatever that means.

More Lake Jericho Sea Gulls

These Gulls are very acrobatic, and entertaining.

I have an inexpensive 75 x 300mm lense, and 

even though I don't need the power it is fun to 

see if Ican get good shots with it, remember 

I'm a wanna-be. This realy gets amusing when

Canadian Geese get in the action. Its amazing

how much fun you can have with bread and a 

camera. Get out the soda and popcorn the 

show is on. 

This Gull makes a pass at some bread, but is waived

off, because another gull beat him to it.

The gull above looks as if it is standing on

something in the water. It is amazing how

they can touch down without making a ripple,

and take the bread so delicately.

Chasing Feathers in the cold, cold rain.

After reading and viewing Mad Snapper's blog

this morning, I would like to share this with you all.

These are some pics I took this past Monday afternoon.

these pics are not worthy of putting on the blog but

They serve the purpose of expressing how much I

love not only taking pictures but also the chase; or the

hunt; if you will. Please read on. 

It was a cold afternoon, drizzling rain and the

humidity crept right through the clothing I was

wearing. But when I spied the hawk, the hunt for

that one shot that would make it all worth while

was on. Tree to tree; bush to bush, and finally,

almost close enough to touch the hawk I raised

my camera and began snapping. Bad light and

lousey conditions, I was robbed. I enjoyed it,

and that my friends is how much I like the "Click"

A noble monument, very impressive, even imposing

in appearance, a magnificent predator.

Below the Hawk leaned forward and off it went

like a speeding bullett, faster than Superman.

And I, went home to a warm house and a

cold beer. I love the click.

Wall Painting

This is Malicks (now closed). It used to be a

restaurant, closed for a while and opened up

again as a antique store and has been closed for

quite awhile now.

While it was a restaurant we ate there several

times. The food was not bad and the prices were

ok. I don't know why it did not survive.

These wall paintings were painted while it was an

antique store, several years ago.

I have wanted to stop and take photos for

quite awhile. Well I finaly did. You don't see

much wall painting any more, I guess it's a 

lost art, or to expensive.  

I can remember when I could see wall paintings

everywhere. They were advertising for almost

everything from popular sodapop, to bread, and

a list that goes on and on. Whenever I see one

of the old paintings, though they are faded now

I put them in my collection. 

Rejuvenated Lion.

The lion says "warm weather, some shrubs a growing

season and my dignity will return".

Last night, in an e-mail my daughter in law Daria

was good enough to send me the information I had

forgotten about the restorer of the "Wounded Lion".

Artist Randall Nelson did the work, he is from

Connecticut and has done work for the Historic

Savannah Foundation prior to this. He has recieved

awards from the Historic Savannah Preservation

Group.

The Wounded Lion.

Drinking and driving.

A drunk driver wounded the Lion, fountain, and

wrought iron fence, in 2008. All of these were

difficult and almost impossible to replace.

A new Lion had to be created exactly like the

original one, using the old pieces as refrence.

I can not remember the artists or the country

where it was done.

In the above photo you can see the craftsman

working on touch up and color matching. These

photo's were taken this past January.

There were a number of people there, just as I

was, taking photos. The conversation among us

was the fact that he was talking to himself,

obviously agrivated about something. One observer

said they had wanted the craftsman to wear a

hard hat and safety goggles. Below you can see

He would have none of that.

This craftsman is from wherever the lion was

recreated, and was completely involved in his work

and semengly unaware we were taking his picture.

   In my next blog I will show the finished Lion.

It is beautiful.

Early Mocking Birds.

The Mocking bird so called for it's melodious singing

as well as it's ability to mimick other birds songs,

as well as the sounds of some insects.

Mocking birds will readily defend their territory,

and nests against any and all foes.

Mocking bird eggs and young are a food delicacy

for a variety of preditators. Such as snakes, 

hawks, and other large birds, as well as o-possums,

racoons, and the list goes on and on.

I have seen them in the defensive mood against

snakes and hawks. They will band together

when necessary, to defend their terrritory.

It is verry early, but they are seen in these photos,

seemingly laying claim to last years nest's, and

spring is at least 2 months away.

In the photo above the nest can be seen at

lower left. In the photo below the nest is in

the tangle of Jasmine vines.

Jericho Sea Guls.

I threw some bread upon the waters of

lake Jericho and, Voila, action pics.

I don't know what to say about a seagull.

When I was on active duty with the U.S. Navy

we accused non productive sailors of being

seagulls all they did was "eat, poop, and squack".

They are beautiful to watch.

That night, God took a rib from Adam's side and

made a Woman. When Adam awoke the following

morning, He found a wife, Eve, laying asleep
